On the morning of the 16th local time, the US Embassy in Baghdad, located in the Green Zone, was attacked.
The embassy activated its air raid sirens and C-RAM air defense system, and shot down one incoming explosive device. It is currently unclear whether the device was a drone or a rocket.
As of now, the US has not responded.

According to AFP, on the 15th local time, Baghdad International Airport in Iraq was attacked by rockets, injuring five people. Reports indicate that US diplomatic facilities are located at the airport.
According to reports, Iraqi authorities stated that “five rockets attacked Baghdad International Airport and its surrounding area, injuring four airport staff and security personnel, as well as one engineer.”
The statement added that the rockets hit the airport and a desalination plant, and another rocket crashed near an Iraqi air force base adjacent to US diplomatic facilities.
