Jiangsu’s transportation construction & investment completing over 50% of annual target

 

According to the Provincial Department of Transportation on July 16, the investment in the construction of expressways, railways, airports, and river crossings totaled RMB 96.05 billion in the first half of the year, completing 56.4% of the annual target, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year.

Major transportation projects saw significant progress. The north-south expressway section of Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge opened to traffic. The first capping beam of S346 separate grade crossing overpass on the Shuyang-Suyu section of the Lianyungang-Suqian Expressway was concreted. The 38-kilometer makeshift road and bridge of the Yancheng section of Jianxing Expressway has been completed, laying the foundation for the construction of the entire expressway. The construction of the main pier bearing platform of Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge has been completed. Concrete pouring of the lower beam has been completed for the foundation of the north tower of the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge. The Changhushen Waterway Improvement Project was implemented. The infrastructure and hidden danger rectification project of the “Safe Road” S125 Gaoyou section passed the acceptance after completion. The Youfangqiao Interchange of Nanjing-Ma’anshan Expressway opened to traffic on June 30.

Preliminary work of major projects has advanced steadily. As of the end of June, 27 of the 28 key transportation projects included in Jiangsu’s construction plan have started, taking up 96.4% of the total, and the preparations for Zhangjiagang-Rugao River-crossing Channel have been basically completed. Among the 18 key projects to be started in 2021, 11 projects are well underway, including the Zhangjiagang Section of Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-speed Railway, the Airfield Pavement Maintenance and Photovoltaic Power Generation Project of Changzhou Benniu Airport, and the Administrative Building and Flight Service Station of Xuzhou Xinyi General Aviation Airport, taking up 61.1% of the total, completing over 50% of the annual target.
