Renault to Suspend Activities in Morocco, Portugal, Slovenia Due to Coronavirus

Renault SA said late Tuesday that it has decided to temporarily suspend its activities in Morocco and Portugal as well as its subsidiary Revoz as the novel coronavirus continues to spread.

The French car maker said the halt at its two production sites of Tangier and Casablanca in Morocco would be effective as of Thursday, while production at its Cacia factory in Portugal will pause Wednesday.

Renault subsidiary Revoz will halt production at its Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia.

Renault said it would restart operations as soon as practicable.

The announcement came as most car makers suspend operations at their European sites in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
