Yesterday, Guangdong’s first h7n9 bird flu patient moved to general ward of First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medicine University.
The 51-year old woman, a worker in a poultry farm in Huizhou, became sick with h7n9 bird flu about half month ago and stayed in ICU for several days. “I feel much better now. You saved my life. I’m very grateful that so many people care for me and help me. ” she said.
The hospital said she may leave hospital in a week, and fully recover in a month.
Lin Shaochun, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, visited the patient yesterday in the hospital and vowed to continue the H7N9 bird flu prevention and control work. Guangdong government has established a 30 million RMB relief fund to reduce the financial burden of H7N9 patients, according to Lin.
